You Are My Mask
Publication
You Are My Mask is a short publication that I wrote and designed to spread awareness about neurodivergence. The poem is about a person that is going through the never-ending cycle of the ADHD identity crisis, blending in with the crowds as they go about life. In order to blend in, they use something called “masking”, a common strategy used by neurodivergent individuals.
The concept for the format and typography was to follow the poem as it’s told.
It is meant to immerse you in the person’s mental cycle of highs and lows. The cover is a reflective metallic cardstock, which is meant to reflect the meaning of the title.
The book is not yet published or available to the public.
Printed on cardstock and hand-binded in Japanese style. Designed in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
